The inspiration: A Quilt

The ending result: A Conch Painting

- A few weeks ago I was looking through a magazine becuase I am helping my mother design the new addition at the lakehouse. So while I was flipping through the pages, there was this picture of a room and on the bed was a tan quilt with all sorts of ocean things like a conch shell,starfish,coral,and some other types of shells and I saw the conch shell and thought of my mother because she has about 10 big glass jars in her bathroom and the study filled with sand and shells she has collected her whole life and in her bathroom she has a bunch of conch shells that she dove for in the oceans on vacations shes been on throughout her life. So I was up late one night and was staring at a blank canvas and started to paint the conch shell, im giving her the painting for her birthday next month.

It amazes me all the time that inspiration can be found from anything, a magazine, a picture, water, family, pets, books, etc.

The Glass Castle

- I recieved the book The Glass Castle from a loved one of mine and started reading it that day. The book is an amazing story of a disfunctional family and their many adventures. I learned from this book how privlaged i am that I have an intelligent mother who always put me and my brothers first when we were growing up, and a father who always did what was best for the family instead of for himself. this book was so well written that i felt like i was in the book and felt what the characters felt, I would recommend this book to anyone whos looking for a good read, though its not a very long book it captures you in the story with every word on the page.
